We’re really sorry for this extended server downtime across all our sites. A lot of it was just waiting for our hosting company to get around switching hard drives and computers. Anyway, we’re nearing the completion of server upgrades and hope to be up in a few more hours. We’ll update you if we run into any more delays.

Update 6:22am: Girlybubble.com is up. Ningin will take more time because it’s a complex site. We’re having DNS issues with NobodyOpen.

Update 1:22pm: Ningin will be fully ready in about 30 mins.

Update 3:20pm: Ningin seems set. Going to spend the rest of the day looking for bugs on that website. Nobodyopen is still not resolving but I think I found out why. Will have to wait a few hours before I can test.

Update 6:30pm: Finally fixed the DNS issues with Nobodyopen. It was a complicated mess of different things wrong, but should all be working now. You might have to wait 4-24 hours for your ISP’s to refresh it’s domain list before you can visit. 

Mixr Media, LLC, will be providing complete coverage before and during the NYAF on its Asian entertainment community site Ningin.com. Leading up to the start of the festival, anime fans can find pre-show interviews with Anime voice actors and New York Anime Festival founder Peter Tatara.

During the festival, the Ningin.com booth will provide live blogging coverage of the event. The Ningin.com booth will also host free cosplay photo sessions constantly throughout the festival. Cosplayers who get their photo taken at the Ningin.com booth will receive collectible Ningin.com-NYAF stickers. The online Cosplayer Photo Gallery will be updated live from the festival.

Three bloggers form the core of GirlyBubble’s unique voice: Ming, Lan and Tiffany. Each brings her own interpretation of “girliness,” offering users a wide variety of subjects to read and discuss. Rather than catering to any unique point of interest such as fashion or celebrity gossip, GirlyBubble highlights “girliness” in its many forms and personal tastes to generate an open forum for the online female community. Participants can contribute their own discussions of what “girliness” means to them.

GirlyBubble.com joins Ningin.com, and future communities NobodyOpen.com and Jetdrop.com under the umbrella of the Mixr Media network. Its development embraces a growing wave of female users in online communities and caters to their interests and needs. All sites within the Mixr Media network are tied together via a common login system which allows users to travel from one Mixr Media site to another and keep the same profiles, friends lists, and other personal information.

Updates will be provided if more any more bad stuff happens.

My Home -> Friends -> Invite Friends.

Add as many email addresses as you want and whenever they accept the invite you and your invitee will automagically be friends. Even if someone else invited the same person or if they accept the invitation under a different email address they’ll be added to your friends list and you’ll get credited for the invite. What does being credited for the invite get you? Nothing much now, but something very important soon!

Another new feature is the ability to see your friend’s request in the login area. With our universal login system, you’ll see the friend’s request no matter which Mixr community you visit.

There’s been a dozen of quiet bug fixes as well and everything is a work in progress folks, so thanks for your patients. Our efforts right now are on our microsites that we’re developing with our content partners and our video streaming solution. I’ll go into more details about those in a later post.

Also, you’ll find many of the Mixr staff at the AAFilmLab 72 Hour Shootout launch party that our Ningin community is sponsoring. It’ll in lower Manhattan this Friday 6/20 at 6pm.

The goal we have with Ningin is the goal we have for every one of our communities – we want it to be the definitive resource for the niche that it serves. In Ningin’s case, it’s Asian media. Today, we took a big step towards that by partnering up with the Asian American Film Lab and their 72 Hour Shootout short film competition. We’ll be creating a special microsite for them where their members and our users can watch streaming videos of all the participants and read blog updates provided by our own Ningin bloggers. The microsite will be live on June 16th. There’s more to it than just that, so read the full press release for more details.

So far this is our first partnership and our first microsite. It’s been a lot of fun and something we would like to do more of in the future.
