There are 3 different ways to search a wiki’s content: basic, advanced and namespace.

Basic

Example: apples

This will search for the word appearing in any article title or content. If multiple words are entered, the search will look for each word in any order, one word or both in any article title or content.

Advanced

Example: “big apples”

This will search for the exact phrase in any article.

Example: “big apples” –“red”

This will search for the exact phrase but exclude any article containing the second word.

Namespace

Example: apples namespace:Fruits

This will search in the Fruits namespace for any article containing apples.

Example: -“red” namespace:Fruits

This will search in the Fruits namespace for all articles that don’t contain the word red.

Example: apples –“red” namespace:Fruits

This will search the Fruits namespace for all articles that contain the word apples but not that word red.

Example: big apples namespace: -“pies”

This will search for the phrase big apples, excluding any articles that are in the pies namespace.
